C6 Envelopes

Yes, a C6 envelope is designed to fit an A6 piece of paper or A6 card blank, without folding. There is typically a small amount of extra space to allow for easy insertion.

What Is a C6 Envelope?

The dimensions of a C6 envelope are 114mm x 162mm, and C6 envelopes are designed to fit an A6 sheet of paper. The C in the name C6 originates from the ISO 269 standard, which was established in 1975 and has since become the standard for paper sizing across the world.

When trying to match a paper or card blank size to an envelope, always think of envelopes as C and paper or card as A. C-series envelopes (C4, C5, C6 and C7) are designed to fit the corresponding A-series paper (A4, A5, A6 and A7). So, if you had an A6 card blank, then you would need a C6 envelope. If you had an A5 card blank, then you would need a C5 envelope.

A C6 envelope is 114mm x 162mm (4.5” x 6.4”). This size is designed to fit an unfolded A6 sheet of paper or an A6 card blank, an A5 piece of paper folded in half, or an A4 sheet folded in half twice.

C6 envelopes are one of the most popular sizes for greetings and invitations, but they can also be used to send personal letters, promotional materials or smaller postcards/photographs. They are larger than C7 envelopes and smaller than C5 envelopes.
