Description
Bockingford® is a beautifully crafted English watercolour card, traditionally made at St Cuthberts Mill on a cylinder mould machine. Created to archival standards using pure, high-quality materials, it offers exceptional reliability and performance for both amateur and professional artists.
The card features a naturally formed random surface texture, achieved by using woollen felts during production. This gives every sheet a distinctive character, ideal for expressive watercolour techniques. Loved for its excellent colour lifting abilities, Bockingford® is renowned as one of the most forgiving watercolour surfaces available—perfect for layering, corrections, and confident brushwork.
The internal structure of the sheet is more randomly arranged than conventional papers, helping it stay flatter when wet and improving resistance to buckling and curling. Both sides of the card are fully usable for painting.
Bockingford® contains no animal products and is produced with consistent, environmentally respectful craftsmanship.
