C7 envelope dimensions are 81 x 114 mm (3.2” x 4.5”). This size is designed to fit an unfolded A7 sheet of paper or an A7 card blank, an A6 piece of paper folded in half, or an A5 sheet folded into quarters. They are one of the smallest sizes of envelopes in the UK, and are smaller than C6 envelopes. These mini envelopes are commonly used for RSVPs, save-the-dates, mini greetings or personal messages. Commercially, they can also be used for vouchers, loyalty cards and gift cards.

A C7 envelope is designed to snugly fit an A7 card blank or an A7 piece of paper without folding. C7 envelopes measure 81 x 114 mm (3.2” x 4.5”), while A7 card blanks measure 74 mm x 105 mm (2.9”x 4.1”). There is a little extra space designed to allow you to easily insert the A7 card into the C7 envelope.

The C in the name C7 stems from the ISO 269 standard, which was established in 1975 and is now the standard for paper sizing across the world. All C-series envelopes (C4, C5, C6 and C7) correspond to an A-series paper (A4, A5, A6 and A7). So, you should always pair your A-series piece of paper or card blank with the appropriate C-series envelope to ensure the correct fit.

C7 envelopes are one of the smallest envelope sizes available, measuring 81 x 114 mm (3.2” x 4.5”). While technically C8 envelopes are smaller, these are so small that they are rarely used, and typically C7 envelopes are the smallest size readily available. They are smaller than C4, C5 and C6 envelopes.

In the UK, sometimes C7 envelopes are referred to as A7 envelopes (reflecting the size of card they are designed to accommodate). However, confusingly in the US, A7 envelopes are 5” x 7” - much larger than C7 envelopes in the UK. The A in this A7 stands for Announcement and is a common classification in the US stationery and crafting industry.
